The dress of the bride was very classy and pale

The casino was royal

Every cocktail was original

Harry was majestic

The champagne was fresh and delicious

The bridegrooms were in love

My dress was satiny

 

 

 

Sausages were browned

Severine was spring

We were all enchanted

The table was ready and decorated

The menu was tempting mouth-watering

Dragées were coloured

The dinner guests were starved

The dancers were furious

The tiered cake was illuminated

 

 

La mariée était jolie, elle avait un beau collier blanc

Le marié était élégant

Les parents de la mariée étaient un peu intimidés et souriants

Les parents du marié étaient aux anges, radieux

Les invités étaient nombreux

La robe de la mariée était très classe et pâle

Le casino était royal

Chaque cocktail était original

I received an invitation

It is the French Sebastien and Xiao Ying’s wed ding

I had attended their Chinese wedding last year in May

This weekend, the French party takes place in Aix Les Bains

 

 

 

J’ai reçue une invitation

C’est le mariage français de Sé- bastien et Xiao Ying

J’avais assisté à leur mariage chinois l’année dernière au mois de mai

Ce week-end la fête française a lieu à Aix Les Bains

 

 

 

 

So I leave on Saturday morning, September 24^th by train for Aix les Bains!

I shall tell you my return …

At short night spent between plane and a little in the bed all the same by arriving to Beijing

And I take advan tage of the end of the Chinese holi days to see and have a pleasant moment with my Beijiners friends.

Have dinner with Paloma in the Pudong’s district.

Have dinner with Irene in the Huhai’s district, in the rain …

Have dinner with Yingjin, Ozlem and Irene in the “Café de la Poste” my Pekinese canteen!

We have pleasant moments before taking back the plane of return for France

Nuit courte… passée entre avion et un peu au lit quand même en arrivant à Pékin

Et je profite de la fin des vacances chinoises pour voir et passer un moment agréable avec mes amies Pékinoises

C’était la fin des vacances de l’été 2010

En route pour Chengdu

Our driver arrives to our hotel with 45 minutes delay!

We are 360 kilometres to be made. We leave at 11:45am

We run in a glen, the road goes along a river, we cross a green forest.

12:20 am: first stop! It is due to an accident; a car fallen in the river. We leave 15 minutes after but seen the number of stopped cars, trucks and buses the restart is a little bit slow …

We still stop: there is enormous blocks of rocks fallen on the road. An excavator is loosing the road. We really leave at 1:20 pm

Since our departure we are there already at 1:45 hour of lost …

Notre chauffeur arrive à notre hôtel avec 45 minutes de retard sur l’horaire prévu !

Nous avons 360 km à faire. Départ à 11h 45

Nous roulons dans une vallée encais- sée, la route longe une rivière, nous traversons une forêt verdoyante.

12h20 : premier arrêt ! Il est dû à un accident ; une voiture tombée dans la rivière. Nous repartons 15 mn après mais vu le nombre de voitures, camions et bus arrêtés le redémarrage est un peu lent…

On s’arrête encore : il y a d’énormes blocs de rochers tombés sur la route. Une pelleteuse est entrain de dégager la route. Nous repartons réellement à 13 h 20

Depuis notre départ nous en sommes déjà à 1h45 de perdue…

A tunnel is under construction; that should improve the traffic later. A dam is also under construction.

The weather is covered. We are in full fog.

At 2 pm another we have 10 minutes past of wait due to the collapse of the mountain on the road.

We cross a collar in 2700 m. It is raining.

 

 

Un tunnel est en construction ; ça devrait améliorer la circulation… plus tard. Un barrage est aussi en constru- ction.

Le temps est couvert. Nous sommes en plein brouillard.

A 14 h encore 10 minutes d’attente dues à l’effon- drement de la montagne sur la route.

Nous passons un col à 2700 m. Il pleut.

 

 

We take 20 minutes of break the time of a meal, a bowl of noodle, cabbages and mushrooms. 4:10 pm we are again on the road.

Nous prenons 20 minutes de pause le temps d’un repas, un bol de nouille, de choux, et de champignons. 16 h 10 nous sommes de nouveau sur la route.

At 4:30 pm another stop! It is due to a landslide. We don’t know how long that is going to last … We aren’t far from a crossing of another road which allows to arrive at Chengdu but with 100 km more and a chance to arrive on time for the plane! The driver asks us to pay a higher price obviously!

A 16 h 30 encore un arrêt ! C’est dû à un glissement de terrain. On ne sait pas combien de temps ça va durer… Nous ne sommes pas loin d’un embranchement d’une autre route qui permet d’arriver à Chengdu mais avec 100 km de plus et une chance d’arriver à l’heure pour l’avion ! Le chauffeur nous demande de payer plus cher évidemment !

 

On the new road that drives 15 well minutes, then that slows down, then that drives, then that slows down, it is roughly like that every 15 minutes… It is badly for our plane …

Sur la nouvelle route ça roule bien 15 minutes, puis ça ralentit, puis ça roule, puis ça ralentit, c’est en gros comme ça toutes les 15 minutes…C’est mal barré pour notre avion…

At 5:45 pm we still stop. It is another landslide in a village. It would seem that a house would also have collapsed! And it is raining … We leave at 6:55 pm.

We follow for a long time the highway under construction. Huge shadows which appear at night!

A 17h45 on s’arrête encore. C’est encore un glissement de terrain dans un village. Il semblerait qu’une maison se serait aussi effondrée ! Et il pleut… On repart à 18h55.

Nous longeons longtemps l’autoroute en construction. Ombres géantes qui surgissent dans la nuit !

 

Ozlem phones at the airport to ask for a change of flight. Luckily our flight of 8:30 pm is delayed at 10:30 pm! So we are still lucky to arrive in time at the airport …

At 8:15 pm we take finally the highway. The driver doesn’t know the road and have difficulty to find the airport. We turn a little … He has to ask for his road … We arrive at the airport at 10 pm!

Ozlem téléphone à l’aéroport pour demander un changement de vol. Par chance notre vol de 20h30 est retardé à 22h30 ! Nous avons donc encore une chance d’arriver à temps à l’aéroport…

A 20h15 on prend enfin l’autoroute. Le chauffeur ne connaît pas le chemin et à du mal à trouver l’aéroport. Nous tournons un peu… Il doit demander sa route… On arrive à l’aéroport à 22 h !

We put exactly 10:15 hours for a route which should have lasted 5 hours!

Nous avons mis exactement 10h15 pour un trajet qui aurait dû durer 5h !

We have little time to check in our luggage and in more we don’t find easily the Sichuan Airlines’ counters! We see them finally, with 2 charming girls who verify in their computer and announce us with a big smile that the flight is still delayed till 24 hours … Phew! We can take it …

We didn’t see going to Chengdu, finding a hotel, getting up at dawn and returning the following morning to take the 1^st plane for Beijing …

For once that a delay of plane is useful for us!

We are even early … It is going to need to wait 1:30 hour …

That is going to leave us the time to relax before to embark

Nous avons peu de temps pour enregistrer nos bagages et en plus nous ne trouvons pas facilement les comptoirs de Sichuan Airlines ! On les voit enfin, avec 2 charmantes jeunes filles qui vérifient dans leur ordinateur et nous annoncent avec un grand sourire que le vol est encore retardé jusqu’à 24h…Ouf ! On pourra le prendre…

On ne se voyait pas aller à Chengdu, trouver un hôtel, se lever à l’aube et revenir le lendemain matin pour prendre le 1^er avion pour Pékin…

Pour une fois qu’un retard d’avion nous est utile !

On est même en avance… Il va falloir attendre 1 h 30…

Ça va nous laisser le temps de déstresser avant d’embarquer

Kangding : piscine d’eau chaude

There is a firework because it is of 69^th anniversary of something but Ozlem didn’t well understand of what!

Il y a un feu d’artifice car c’est de 69^ème anniversaire  de quelque chose mais Ozlem n’a pas bien compris de quoi !

To Kangding as in numerous places of Sichuan there are hot springs.

It is 5 kilometres of the city. We go to taxi there. We don’t really know how we shall return! So we negotiate (finally Ozlem) along the way with the taxi driver so that he comes to look for us later.

A Kangding comme dans de nombreux endroits du Sichuan  il y a des bains chauds.

C’est à 5 kilomètres de la ville. Nous y allons en taxi en ne sachant pas vraiment comment nous reviendrons ! Du coup nous négocions (enfin Ozlem) en chemin avec le chauffeur de taxi pour qu’il revienne nous chercher plus tard.

The water is warm and sulfurated. The pond to bathe is rather big, as a swimming pool where we can swim. It is very pleasant. Some Chinese are in big buoys there.

L’eau est chaude et soufrée. Le bassin pour se baigner est assez grand, comme une piscine où nous pouvons nager. C’est très agréable. Quelques chinois sont là dans des grosses bouées.

Our stay to short and intense Kangding was!

Tomorrow morning we will leave to go to Chengdu to take our plane for Beijing.

Notre séjour à Kangding a été court et intense !

Demain matin nous partirons pour Chengdu pour prendre notre avion pour Pékin.
