Over the years, China sees deteriorating its deficit in pilots.
Schools don’t follow the dizzy request with 600 - 800 pupils formed each year
Always, the Chineses companies pay less than elsewhere (except the foreign pilots whom they are made to recruit at gold price)
All this makes looking disorder and combines the conditions of a special industrial stife. In the subsidiary of China Esatern, protest took an extremely rare turn: 31 /03 and 1/04, the pilots went around twice in air and brought back their passengers (at least 1500) at the departure point. They used as an excuse the bad weather… But flying of other companies, landed in destination without hitch!
Though cynic, the counting of the pilots is logical: having paid at the hour, them accept much less than their colleagues of the international roads, while being more taxed, and forbidden to pass under other pavilions.
The pilots were threatened to see each other removing their licence Cie China Eastern was asked to get on together with the strikers. Ancient pilots working in offices was being reminded …
Crisis exceeds the regional company, from afar, for instance in March, Cie Shanghai Airlines had noticed ’ « unavailability for illness » 40 pilots, and several pilots of East Star Air, put on to the green...

Au fil des ans, la Chine voit s’aggraver son déficit en pilotes.
Les écoles, avec 600 à 800 élèves formés par an, ne suivent pas la demande vertigineuse.
Depuis toujours, les compagnies chinoises paient moins qu’ailleurs (sauf les pilotes étrangers qu’elles sont obligées de recruter à prix d’or.
Tout ceci fait désordre et réunit les conditions d’un conflit social exceptionnel. Dans une filiale de China Eastern, la contestation a pris un tour rarissime : les 31/03 et 1/04, les pilotes firent deux tours en l’air, et ramenèrent leurs passagers (au moins 1500) au point de départ. Ils prétextèrent le mauvais temps… Mais les vols des autres compagnies, se posaient à destination sans encombre !
Quoique cynique, le calcul des pilotes est logique : payés à l’heure, ils reçoivent bien moins que leurs collègues des routes internationales, tout en étant taxés davantage, et interdits de passer sous d’autres pavillons.
Les pilotes ont été menacés de se voir retirer leur licence…
La Cie China Eastern a été priée de s’accorder avec les grévistes.
D’anciens pilotes passés dans les bureaux. ont été rappelés… La crise dépasse, de loin, la compagnie régionale, par exemple en mars, la Cie Shanghai Airlines avait constaté l’«indisponibilité pour maladie» de 40 pilotes, et plusieurs pilotes de East Star Air, se mettaient au vert...
