Très joli petit musée. Bâtiment tout en bois du sol au plafond, il faut se déchausser avant d’entrer pour ne pas abîmer le joli sol tressé.
Museum of Huahine
Very nice little museum. Quite wooden building of the ground in the ceiling, it’s necessary to remove the shoes before entering for not to damage the attractive plaited ground.

Hua veut dire sexe et Hine veut dire femme
Les montagnes de Huahine qui se jettent dans la mer représentent le profil d’une femme couchée.
La voyez-vous ?
Regardez par la droite, la 1ère montagne est le visage avec front, yeux, nez et bouche. La 2ème montagne représente la poitrine. La 3ème montagne est le ventre de la femme qui est enceinte. Et la 4ème montagne, dont le sommet est légèrement dans la brume, représente les jambes repliées genoux en l’air et pieds posés au sol.
Moi je trouve que l’on voit bien le profil de la femme couchée !
Story of Huahine
Hua means sex and Hine means woman
The mountains of Huahine which throw themselves into the sea represent the profile of a slept woman.
Do you see it?
Look by the right, the 1st mountain is the face with front, eyes, nose and mouth. The 2nd mountain represents the breast. The 3rd mountain is the stomach of the woman which is pregnant. And the 4th mountain, the summit of which is slightly in the mist, represents folded up legs knees in the air and feet put on the ground.
I finds that we see well the profile of the slept woman!
Vendredi 22 avril
Avec Stève nous démarrons la journée sous la pluie, à La Poste (pour alléger la valise de ce qui a été acheté la veille (succulent miel, vinaigre de mapé, jus de noni antioxydant reconnu et bon pour les articulations…)
Il pleut des cordes, à vous tremper les os en 3 secondes !
Le lagon d’habitude bleu vire au rouge, marron. Il faut marcher d’un abri à l’autre, enfin courir… Nous goûtons le mapé (sorte de châtaigne polynésienne)

Friday, April 22th
With Stève we start the day in the rain, in the post office (to lighthen the suitcase of what was bought the day before - delicious honey, vanilla made in Polynesia, vinegar of mape, juice of noni recognized and good antioxidant for the articulations)
It is pouring down, to dip to you bones in 3 seconds!
The lagoon usually blue turns to the red, brown. It’s necessary to walk from a shelter to the other one, finally to run… We enjoy the mapé (kind of Polynesian sweet chestnut)
Nous arrivons chez Christian (qui nous a vendu le jus de noni et le vinaigre de mapé) aujourd’hui il va nous faire goûter des frites (de 
uru, fruit de l’arbre à pin et pommes de terre) cuites à l’huile de coco. Et bien c’est étonnant ! D’abord c’est bon et ensuite l’huile ne brûle pas en cuisant (donc pas de mauvaise odeur) et les pommes de terre ne sont pas grasses car l’huile n’accroche pas, elle reste dans la 
poêle.
We arrive to Christian (who sold us the juice of noni and the vinegar of mapé) today he is going to make us enjoy French fries (of uru, fruit of the tree with pine and potatoes) in the coconut oil. And well it’s surprising! At first it’s good and then the oil doesn’t burn by cooking (thus no bad smell) and 
potatoes are not fat because the oil doesn’t stick, it stays in the frying pan.
En sortant nous courons d’abri en abri jusqu’au resto de la plage. Certains abris prennent un peu l’eau, et les pigeons malins, se planquent sous la table ! Nous décidons de nous baigner sous la pluie, mouillé pour mouillé, autant être dans la mer ! L’eau est 
quand même un peu froide pour la Polynésie… C’est rigolo de voir clapoter la pluie quand on nage !

Et tout d’en coup, une éclaircie ! Le ciel vire au bleu, le soleil pointe son nez, les lunettes de soleil manque ainsi que la crème solaire… Incroyable à une telle rapidité. Ça fait du bien 
de se réchauffer un peu la couenne
And suddenly, a bright period! The sky turns to the blue, the sun points its nose, sunglasses be lacking as well as the sunscreen … Incredible in such a speed. It feels good to warm itself a little the rind
Nous avons droit à des belles couleurs de coucher de soleil et pour la
première fois sur l’île nous pouvons voir les îles d’en face !
We are entitled to beautiful colors of sunset and for the first time on the island we can see islands on the opposite side!
