En Maori Kaikoura signifie « manger de la langouste » (kai = nourriture / manger et koura = langouste) alors ce n’est pas étonnant de manger de la langouste dans la ville qui porte ce nom.

La langouste de Nouvelle-Zélande est commercialisée comme le homard sur certains marchés étrangers, mais en réalité, il y a deux espèces différentes. Tandis que la langouste ressemble au homard, elle est beaucoup plus petite, atteignant en moyenne 5-15 cm de longueur.

Je me suis régalée avec de la langouste fraîche pour mon dîner ! Accompagné comme il se doit d’un vin de la région Whither Hills du Marlborough

Kaikoura sur la côte est, très joli coin, entouré de petites montagnes, les plages sont de sable noir.

Kaikoura means « eating crayfish » in Maori (Kai = food  / eat and koura = crayfish) so it’s not surprising that eating crayfish is the must do in the town by that name.

New Zealand crayfish is marketed as lobster in some overseas market, but in reality, there are two different species. While crayfish resembles lobster, it is much smaller, averaging 5-15 cm in length.

 

I feast on fresh crayfish on my dinner! Accompanied as is proper with a wine of the region Whither Hills du Marlborough

Kaikoura on the East cost, very attractive place, surrounded with small mountains, beaches are of black sand.
