La roue tourne… c’est mon dernier jour à Brisbane ! Demain je m’envole pour Cairns au nord du Queensland.

Ballade dans le quartier de Paddington où résident Rébecca et David et d’où nous avons une magnifique vue sur la ville de Brisbane en contrebas.

Sunday, June 5^th

Life goes on … it is my last day to Brisbane! Tomorrow I fly away for Cairns in the North of Queensland.

Dernier apéritif à la maison. J’ai quand même un petit pincement au cœur. Ce qui est rigolo c’est que je vais rester encore en Australie et Rébecca va en France très bientôt en juin et David en Juillet…

Last aperitif at home. I have all the same a small pang in heart. What is funny it’s that I am still going to stay in Australia and Rebecca goes in France very soon in June and David in July …

AG à la radio française 4EB…

Samedi 4 juin

J’accompagne Rébecca à son Assemblée Générale de la radio. J’aide à la vente des billets de tombola. La vraie vie en somme !

Devinez qui a gagné le gros lot un massage de 60 minutes ?

Le top du top, c’est bibi…

Mais comme je pars lundi prochain, je n’aurais pas le temps d’en profiter ! La plus chanceuse dans cette histoire c’est Rébecca à qui je vais offrir mon massage !

Annual General Meeting on the French radio

I accompany Rebecca to her General assembly of the radio. I help in the sale of the tickets of tombola. The real life as a matter of fact!

Guess who won the jackpot a massage of 60 minutes?

The ultimate, it’s me …

But how I leave next Monday, I would not have time to take advantage of it!  

The most fortunate in this story it is Rebecca to whom I am going to offer my massage!

Après l’AG, je suis interviewée sur mes voyages en Nouvelle Zélande, Polynésie et Calédonie, pendant l’émission hebdomadaire de la radio 4EB en langue française de 17h à 18 h le samedi.

After the Annual Assembly, I am interviewed on my journeys in New Zealand, Polynesia and Caledonia, during the weekly emission of the radio 4EB in French language of 5 to 6pm on Saturdays.

Couscous

Voilà Couscous. Il est royal, n’est-ce pas ! hé hé hé

Couscous est le chat de Rébé et David, c’est un gros matou câlin, gourmand, dormeur et très sociable, qui adore être tout près de nous.

Couscous is the cat of Rébé and David, it is a big affectionate, greedy, sleeper and very sociable tomcat, which adores being very close to us.

Vendredi 3 juin

Courses au supermarché pour les légumes, c’est facile.

Pour la viande ça se complique car il n’y a que des gros paquets !

Donc je vais chez le boucher avec mon petit papier sur lequel j’avais noté le nom en anglais des morceaux de viande qui conviennent pour un pot au feu !

En France on met de la « macreuse », du « plat de côte », du « paleron », du « gite », du « jumeau » en autre. En gros de la viande de bœuf grasse, maigre et gélatineuse, plus des os à moelle

Mais allez dire ça en anglais à un boucher australien !

 Beef stew - Friday, June 3^rd

Shopping in the supermarket for vegetables, it is easy.

For the meat it's getting more complex because there are only big packages!

Thus I go to the butcher with my small paper on which I had noted the name in English of the pieces of meat which suit for a beef stew!

In France we put some special pieces of beef, roughly some fat, thin and gelatinous beef, more marrow bones so I check my dictionary and recipes in English but I could not find all the words of these pieces !

I found shoulder of beef, chuck, silverside, gravy beef, beef short ribs, but I didn’t know exactly at which part of beef it was !

When I was at the butcher's, it was not easy!

Bon, j’ai réussi à faire les courses, et je me suis mise aux fourneaux !

Well, I managed to go shopping, and I began cooking!

Le dîner a été succulent !

The dinner was delicious!

Alliance Française de Brisbane

 

Vendredi 3 juin

 

Rencontre bien sympathique avec le directeur de l’AF de Brisbane. Je continue mon rôle de bénévole VRP et présente l’Alliance de Strasbourg.

A Brisbane je connais Claire, donc j’ai déjeuné avec elle, très sympa aussi.

Et Rébecca est venue me chercher, nous avons pris un pot, ça aussi c’est sympa !

Very nice meeting with the director of the AF of Brisbane. I continue my volunteer's role sales representative and I present the Alliance of Strasbourg.

To Brisbane I know Claire, thus I lunched with her, very nice also.

And Rebecca is picked me up, we had a drink, that also it’s nice!
