One of the formidable things in these mountains are the hot springs
After our Pu Da Cuo park’s visit which we leave under a pouring rain we decide to go to warm us in the hot springs

Après notre visite du parc Pu Da Cuo que nous quittons sous une pluie battante nous décidons d’aller nous réchauffer aux bains chauds
Fabulous place! At feet of an immense rock is a big swimming pool of warm water, outdoor. The hot source springs in a corner of the pond. The pond is oval, around a small artificial island. Below pour the river in icy and muddy waters
Fabuleux endroit ! Au pied d’un immense rocher se trouve une grande piscine d’eau chaude, en plein air. La source chaude jaillit dans un coin du bassin. Le bassin est ovale, autour d’une petite île artificielle. En contrebas coule le fleuve aux eaux glaciales et boueuses
It’s really a pleasure to swim here! The weather is a little bit cold, it’s raining and we are swimming in the hot water… A real happiness!
C’est réellement un plaisir de nager là ! Le temps est un peu froid, il pleut et nous nageons dans l’eau chaude… Un vrai bonheur !
Paldin our guide is a Tibetan guy. As many Tibetan children, he left to Dharamsala, when he was a teenager. He walked in winter through the mountain during 28 days, in secret to cross the border and go in India.
He studied 3 years at the Dalai Lama School. He learnt English language and Tibet’s history.
When he came back in China he was in police custody during 3 months, he had to answer to the full of questions of the authorities then he was able to return at the parents’ home. He never can work for the Chinese administration.
Thanks to his guide’s job he likes explaining to the foreigners the Tibetans’ history.
Paldin notre guide est tibétain. Comme beaucoup d'enfants Tibétains, il est parti à Dharamsala, quand il était adolescent. Il a marché en hiver à travers la montagne pendant 28 jours, clandestinement pour passer la frontière et aller en Inde.
Il a étudié 3 années à l’école du Dalaï Lama. Il a appris l’anglais et l’histoire du Tibet.
Quand il est rentré en Chine il a été gardé à vue pendant 3 mois, a dû répondre à plein de questions des autorités puis il a pu rentrer chez lui. Il ne pourra jamais travailler pour l’administration chinoise.
Grâce à son métier de guide il aime expliquer aux étrangers l’histoire des Tibétains.
Paldin bring us to eat in the best Tibetan restaurant of the city (according to him)
It’s actually a pleasant place and the cooking is excellent. We eat yak again but grilled with some grilled mint. Delicious! We enjoy the specialities of the place: potato pancakes cooked with yak, cheese in the yak’s butter, some tea with yak’s milk. Everything is very good.
That is called “a bath of yak!”
Paldin nous emmène manger dans le meilleur restaurant Tibétain de la ville (selon lui) C’est effectivement un lieu agréable et la cuisine est excellente. Nous mangeons encore du yak mais grillé avec de la menthe grillée. Délicieux ! Nous goûtons les spécialités du lieu : des galettes de pommes de terre cuites avec du yak, du fromage au beurre de yak, du thé au lait de yak. Tout est très bon. Ça s’appelle « un bain de yak ! »
Sangri La has approximately 33000 inhabitants mainly Tibetan. It is rather a rich city with regard to the other numerous cities of the "Tibetan" zone close to the Tibet.
Sangri La compte environ 33000 habitants majoritairement Tibétains. C’est plutôt une ville riche par rapport à de nombreuses autres villes de la zone « tibétaine » proche du Tibet.
