  • Bad Day... Mauvaise journée...

What is the bad new that I told yesterday ?

The woman responsible for the moving company (Harriet is her name) called me and explained me that the truck who carried my belongings had an accident, a serious accident, it burnt and my goods too ! When I heard this, I did not believe that and I thought in myself "you don't understand her English". So I asked a colleague to take the phone for me.

But my understanding was excellent.... Unfortunately, the lorry with my things was completely destroyed. The woman added that my passport and my work permit was inside the cab and burnt too ... The packer saved only a few boxes !

    Very big shock for me...

To be alone in a foreign country without passport, without my personal things... I am confusing. I have like a knot in my stomach, I feel strange like a nightmare

So I need a new passport, a new work permit... and all the rest

Today began a long waiting day... before to go to the police to declare the loss. Counter 38 then counter 19 then counter 38 twice... then counter without number... but the good counter. Here we must to wait that the responsible go out of his meeting ! Harriet is chattered, so I practice my English ! One hour and half to wait... and only ten minutes to do the statement !

After that it was too late to go to the French Embassy, So tomorrow the follow

I saw a French doctor because I need medicine, my stock was with my things in my move...So go up in smoke...

Then I received the few boxes who left. 10 % ... yes you read well... only 10 % saved of fire. I don't know if I must to laugh or to lament.

Goodbye my favorite paintings, CD, books and another little things so important when you are far and alone !

    I need comfort now

  • One morning for nothing ! Une matinée pour rien !

I spent all the morning in my new flat with the agent estate to attempt to connect Internet, or to open the safe-box (with notice in Chinese...), or to switch on the TV who does not work, but nothing was restored after many tries.  So I wasted my time

I was very close to be irritated ! ! ! Above all when the kindly but not efficient young woman smiled me

All the thinks that I asked last time, like to clean the flat for example was not did !

In the afternoon, I received a bad new, but Ilike I al still shocked, I prefer to wait tomorrow to talk about

I had have my first English lesson with my Chinese teacher, in the Starbucks coffee because in the office there are not room available. Waouh I am not at ease with the chinese accent... Here it's good to have a Chinese teacher

This evening I had a dinner with the son and his wife of my York-host family. We was in a French restaurant where a big group of young international people did a big party. So a lot of noise and difficulties to heard !

  • 1st account 1er compte

Step by step I get me in my Chinese live ! This morning I openned an account in a Chinese Bank. I yet had a debit card and an access to Internet. For each I could to choice my password, directly ! In France it's more slowly... and not so modern !

I had helped by our assistant, a Chinese person, but the counter clerk liked to speak in English and was so glad.

If I want to transfer by Internet some money from China to France I must to scrape off in back of card some little square like a naval battle : vertically from 1 to 8 and on the horizontal 10 letters. To connect Internet you put before your password and after the system propose you to scrape one or two squares (for example 8-N). It's like a secret code ! Very player this Chinese. I had have a little difficulties to understand the explicactions avout that, it's so much different !

It's was strange to sign all the bank documents only in Chinese except my name of course
