Après une nuit passée dans le bus, nous arrivons au petit matin dans la grande ville qui se réveille. Nous sommes à 4000 mètres.
I am under the spell of the magnificent trucks/bus. They cross the city throughout. Often a doorman hung on the car door harangues and shouts the price to the passers-by to invite them to rise.
Je suis sous le charme de camions / bus magnifiques . Ils sillonnent la ville de part en part. Souvent un portier accroché à la portière harangue et crie le prix aux passants pour les inviter à monter.
Because of the altitude the visit is tiring. We have the short breath because that climbs well … The city discovers slowly for us. Here many ladies display the very coloured local costume. They have long black plaits.
L’altitude rend la visite fatigante. Nous avons le souffle court car ça grimpe bien…
Lentement, la ville se découvre à nos yeux. Ici beaucoup de dames arborent le costume local très coloré. Elles ont de longues tresses noires.

Difficult ascent, but beautiful views of houses hung on hills!
Montée difficile, mais belles vues des maisons accrochées aux collines !

Our last day in Sucre we had planned to go to the village of Tarabusco, at about sixty kilometers from Sucre.
There is on every Sunday a typical market which attracts the Indians of neighbourhoods. We find beautiful materials there which make the good name of this market. The inhabitants come in local dress and wear beautiful multicoloured ponchos.
So get up early, we take the bus at 8 am and after 30 minutes we find the blocked road! There is a cycle race and it is impossible to pass till at least noon!
As the market rather takes place in the morning, it is doamned for Tarabusco … Which disappointment!
Notre dernier jour à Sucre nous avions prévu d’aller au village de Tarabusco, à une soixantaine de kilomètres de Sucre.
Il y a chaque dimanche un marché typique qui attirent les indiens des environs. On trouve là de belles étoffes qui font le renom de ce marché. Les habitants viennent en habit local et portent de beaux ponchos multicolores
Donc levées de bonne heure, nous prenons le bus à 8 h et après 30 mn nous trouvons la route bloquée ! Il y a une course cycliste et c’est impossible de passer jusqu’à au moins midi !
Comme le marché a plutôt lieu le matin et bien c’est foutu pour Tarabusco… Quelle déception !

Our hotelkeeper recommended us to go to visit it
On the top of the gate is written there in quechua "Hodie Mihi Cras Tibi" what wants to means "Today it is me, tomorrow it will be you", that makes humble!

Notre hôtelier nous a conseillé d’aller le visiter
Sur le haut du portail est écrit en quechua « Hodie Mihi Cras Tibi » ce qui veut dire « Aujourd’hui c’est moi, demain ce sera toi », et bien ça rend humble !
It is a big park with numerous paths, benches, with the many people that goes and comes, and the place is peaceful
C’est un grand parc avec de nombreuses allées, des bancs, du monde qui va et vient, et le lieu est paisible
We are in hill and have a beautiful view on the city
Nous sommes un peu en hauteur et avons une belle vue sur la ville
To reach vaults at the top people use the services of young people who move permanently with a ladder on shoulders
Pour accéder aux caveaux du haut les gens utilisent les services de jeunes gens qui se déplacent en permanence avec une échelle sur les épaules
Other nice little thing made in Sucre: have lunch to the market
For 10 Bolivianos (equivalent to 1 €) we eat an excellent meal
Autre petite chose sympathique faite à Sucre : déjeuner au marché
Pour 10 Bolivianos (équivalent à 1 €) nous mangeons un excellent repas
In the evening we leave the magnificent city of Sucre by bus of night to go in La Paz
Le soir nous quittons la magnifique ville de Sucre en bus de nuit pour aller à La Paz
