Big market

 

After a very difficult route due to the road in poor condition, we arrived in the village of Wase where there was a big weekly market.

 

 

 

In spite of the rain the village is very full of life and the market swarms with world.

 

Excellent meal to the family of the minority Bai’s restaurant

 

 

Grand marché

 

Après un très difficile trajet dû à la route en mauvais état, nous sommes arrivés dans le village de Wase où il y avait le grand marché hebdomadaire.

Malgré la pluie le village est très animé et le marché grouille de monde.

 

Excellent repas au restaurant tenu par une famille de la minorité Bai

Two weeks are too fast spent …

But it was really great!

In spite of the big clouds and the uncertain weather colors were beautiful.

Malgré les gros nuages et le temps incertain les couleurs sont belles.

 

 

 

 

The villagers were always in movements.

 Les villageois sont toujours en mouvements.

 

 

We took a very bad road, quite broken down and full of mud.

Nous prenons une très mauvaise route, toute défoncée et pleine de gadoue.

 

 

We visited a small Temple at the edge of the lake

 Nous visitons un petit Temple au bord du lac

We find even the local dive!

Nous trouvons même le tripot local !

 

 

In some of the matriarchal South minorities of China, only the women work. The men content with sleeping, with smoking, with playing, and with making the children …

Dans certaines des minorités matriarcales du sud de la Chine, seules les femmes travaillent. Les hommes se contentent de dormir, fumer, jouer, et faire les enfants…

Legend

 

To make the invaders (the Han Chinese) run away  a young man of the village disguised himself as an old lady.

He went in front of the enemy carrying an enormous rock on his back.

He told them that "she" was the least strong of the village.

The enemy became afraid …

If this old woman is so strong and capable of carrying such a heavy rock, then what about the young men of the village!

 

 

Légende

 

Pour faire fuir les envahisseurs (les chinois Han) un jeune homme du village s’est déguisé en vieille dame.

Il est allé au devant de l’ennemi en portant un énorme rocher sur son dos.

Il leur dit  qu’ « elle »  était la moins forte du village.

L’ennemi a pris peur…

Si cette vieille femme est si forte et capable de porter un si lourd rocher, qu’en est-il des jeunes hommes du village…

Une légende de plus

 

A devil wanted to get in the village to corrupt the inhabitants.

Un démon voulait entrer dans le village pour pervertir les habitants.

 

 

The Wise old man tries to dissuade him from it and discusses with him for a long time.

Le Sage tente de l’en dissuader et discute longuement.

 

 

A contract between both is signed.

Un contrat entre les deux est signé.

 

 

But the devil does not keep his word.

To protect the village from the devil, the Wise old man covers its with his big coat.

Mais le démon ne respecte pas sa parole.

Pour protéger le village du démon, le Sage le recouvre de son grand manteau.

 

 

Then the Wise old man built the village on top of the mountain and everyone lived in peace …

Puis le Sage fait construire le village en haut de la montagne et ils vécurent en paix…

Enjoy your meal in Dali

 

For the dinner you make our shopping to the grocer’s shop then the restaurant’s staff prepares the meal.

 

It’s very pleasant to choose by itself the ingredients of the dinner.

 

Antoine enjoyed with legs of chicken …

Er… for us the girls it was not our thing!

 

We preferred the freshly fished fish …

 

Bon appétit à Dali !

 

Pour le dîner nous faisons nos courses à l’épicerie puis le personnel du restaurant prépare le repas.

 

C’est très plaisant de choisir par soi-même les ingrédients du dîner.

 

Antoine s’est régalé avec des pattes de poulet…

 

Euh… pour nous les filles ce n’était pas notre truc !

 

Nous avons préféré le poisson fraîchement pêché…

 

National holiday

 

Today by July 14th, the French Embassy organized one party.

I went there. There were a lot of Chinese and French people.

The buffet was very fast ransacked!

There was some good cheese of our sweet France

There was an orchestra

The Ambassador made a speech

The national anthem was sung

The wine and the champagne poured in stream

This kind of evening kind is always a little bit society

 

Fête Nationale

 

Aujourd’hui pour le 14 juillet, l’Ambassade de France à organisée une soirée.

J’y suis allée. Beaucoup de monde chinois et français.

Le buffet a été dévalisé en un temps record !

Il y avait du bon fromage de notre douce France

Il y avait un orchestre

L’Ambassadeur a fait un discours

L’hymne national a été chanté

Le vin et le champagne ont coulé à flot

Ce genre de soirée est toujours un peu mondain.
