Après ma double journée du 21 entre l’Australie et Hawaï, je pensais aller au lit de bonne heure pour récupérer.
Et non le programme était tout autre et très intéressant.
Night out on lava flow!
After my double day of 21 between Australia and Hawaii, I thought of going to bed early to recover.
And not the program was quite different and very interesting.
Avec le groupe de d’Aventures et Volcans que j’ai retrouvé à l’hôtel à Big Island, nous sommes partis à 23 h faire une marche sur une coulée de lave du volcan en activité Kilauea. Après 1 heure de voiture, nous y sommes…

Marche d’approche sur un chemin pierreux éclairé par la lune, puis marche sur le champ de lave éclairé à la lampe torche obligatoire pour ne pas risquer de tomber dans un trou.
Approach march on a rocky path lit by the moon, then walking on the field of lava lit in the compulsory flashlight not to risk to fall in a hole.
C’est sportif ! Un peu mystérieux de marcher ainsi, en file indienne, dans les pas de Cédric notre guide.
It is sports! A little bit mysterious to walk so, in single file, in the steps of Cédric our guide.
Puis après un temps de marche qui paraît bien long, nous approchons des laves incandescentes ! La chaleur augmente très vite dès que nous sommes prés.
Then after a time of walking which seems very long, we approach incandescent lavas! The heat increases very fast as soon as we are near.
C’est inquiétant et excitant à la fois d’être là, de voir tous ces points rouges, orange éclairer la nuit, de voir les laves couler et former des dessins imprévus qui se modifient sans cesse.
It is disturbing and exciting at the same time to be there, to see all these red, orange points shining at night, to see lavas pouring and forming unforeseen drawings which modify ceaselessly.
Nous rentrons à l’hôtel à 5 h du matin épuisés mais comblés !
We return in the hotel at 5 am in the morning exhausted but filled!
STUPEFIANT ! SUBLIME ! - STUNNING! SUBLIME!
Mauvais temps. Une tempête tropicale est annoncée, donc tous les Parcs Nationaux sont fermés. Ça perturbe un peu notre programme de découverte des volcans !
Bad weather. A tropical storm is announced, thus every National Parks are closed. That perturbs a little our program of discovery of volcanoes!
