Nous visitons une petite exploitation où tout le processus nous est bien expliqué de la production jusqu’à la vente.

La liane de vanille entortillée sur des arbustes ; la fleur qui est polonisée à la main par l’homme ; la récolte, le séchage ; le conditionnement ; la transformation ; la vente.

The island of Tahaa is specialized in the culture of the vanilla.

We visit a small exploitation where all the process is explained well to us of the production until the sale.

The liana of vanilla twist around on shrubs; the flower which is polinated in the hand by the man; the harvest, the drying; the packaging; the transformation; the sale.

Les récits généalogiques font remonter les marae aux origines du monde. Aux temps les plus reculés, les marae étaient des lieux de réunion des chefs de famille qui venaient y demander le soutien des ancêtres.

Le marae était également le reflet de l’organisation des sociétés polynésiennes anciennes hautement hiérarchisées.

Le rôle social du marae aurait existé antérieurement à leur attribution sacrée. Les marae étaient de ce fait des enjeux de pouvoirs politique et religieux entre les chefferies.

The genealogical narratives make go back marae to the origins of the world. In ancient times, marae was places of meeting of the heads of the family who came to ask it for the support of the ancestors.

The marae was also the reflection of the organization of the former Polynesian societies, highly organized into a hierarchy.

The social role of the marae would have before existed in their sacred attribution. Marae was of this fact of the stakes in political and religious powers between chieftainships.

Entre 1300 à 1400 le marae acquiert une dimension religieuse.

Espaces réservés aux activités cérémonielles, sociales et religieuses, lieux de culte des ancêtres et des divinités, le marae était un espace de rencontre entre les hommes et les puissances de l’au-delà.

Les cérémonies religieuses qui s’y déroulaient, donnaient lieu à des prières et à des invocations aux ancêtres et aux divinités ainsi qu’à des sacrifices.

 

Between 1300 in 1400 the marae acquires a religious dimension.

Spaces reserved for the ceremonial, social and religious activities, places of worship of the ancestors and the divinities, the marae was a space of meeting between the people and the powers of the afterlife.

The religious ceremonies which took place gave rise to prayers and to invocations to the ancestors and to the divinities as well as to the sacrifices there.

Ils formaient des monuments de taille imposante. L’architecture de base comprenait généralement une aire rectangulaire, la cour du marae, pourvue d’une plate-forme (ahu) à l’une des extrémités et d’un ensemble de pierres dressées vers le ciel.

They formed monuments of impressive size. The basic architecture included generally a rectangular area, the courtyard of the marae, provided with a platform (ahu) in one of the extremities and of a set of raised stones towards the sky.
