We left Beijing in the early morning
We had our 1st stay in Xi Chang.
1st good impression: Beautiful green landscapes and red ground and especially bearable temperature of 22 °, that changes 35 ° Beijing’s suffocating temperature!
2nd bad impression: victim of a pick pocket in the city centre! It is the 1st time when that arrives to me in China. Very irritating!
It is an interesting “Yi nationality city”
It was a little bit difficult to find a hotel in the city centre because is the 6th minority Yi Torch festival. The taxi driver was so kind and helps us to find one
We are the only foreigner in Xichang. Local people don't speak English
We have a dinner in a Yi restaurant beautiful place, the waiter spoke Chinese but it was difficult to understand him. 2 dishes very spicy 2 dishes normal: Chicken and potatoes in local cooked.
We visited the Guan Fu Temple with Buddha everywhere as it is necessary, with a big Buddha in black wooden not painted what gives him a look different and one with five heads piled the some onto the others
Départ très tôt de Pékin pour Xichang dans le Sud du Sichuan
1ère bonne impression : Beaux paysages verdoyants et belle terre rouge et surtout température supportable de 22°, ça change des 35° étouffant de Pékin
2ème mauvaise impression : victime d'un pick pocket au centre ville ! C'est la 1ère fois que ça m'arrive en Chine. Très énervant !
La ville de Xichang est le fief de la minorité ethnique : Yi
Nous arrivons juste pendant la période du festival « 6ème festival des minorités »
Du coup difficultés pour trouver un hôtel ! Le chauffeur de taxi est adorable et nous aide.
Dans la ville nous ne voyons aucun étranger. La population locale ne parle pas l’anglais, les contacts ne sont pas simples mais nous nous débrouillons pas trop mal !
Nous dînons dans un restaurant Yi. Beau lieu très coloré, le serveur parle un chinois très basique et c’est difficile de commander !
Redécouverte de la cuisine épicée ! On avait juste oublié de préciser "no spicy" en chinois "bu la". Dommage car à la 1ère bouchée la bouche est en feu et c’est difficile après cela de découvrir les saveurs... Le poulet et la soupe heureusement n'étaient pas piquants.
Visite du Temple Guan Fu avec des Bouddha partout comme il se doit, dont un grand en bois noir non peint ce qui lui donne une allure différente et un avec cinq têtes empilées les unes sur les autres
